Would you like a
Compassionate Neighbour?

If you are living with a chronic, long-term or terminal illness, or are elderly and experiencing loneliness or social isolation, you might find being matched with a Compassionate Neighbour helpful.

Alternatively, if you are caring for someone living with these conditions and who is lonely and isolated, we can help.

Compassionate Neighbours are fully trained to provide their time, companionship and support to people living in their community. They are matched to people wanting support according to their hobbies, interests and where they live. All support is provided free of charge. Compassionate Neighbours can support you by:

  • Visiting weekly for a cup of tea and a chat, offering friendship and a listening ear
  • Helping you do the things you like doing
  • Helping you stay connected to your friends and the community
